Martyrology: In Persia, Acindino, along with his brothers Pegasus, Afton, Elpidiforo, Anempodisto and several of their companions suffered martyrdom in hatred of the Christian faith under the King Shapur II of Persia, between the years 341 and 345.

These holy martyrs in Persia, are mentioned in a 'step' Greek time Heraclius (610-614), historically low value, which we received at the reworking of a Metaphrastes Simeone, Byzantine hagiography of the tenth century, and a Latin version in the code 1622, University of Padova.
The story told by 'passion', took place at the time of the Persian king Shapur II (310-379); raging persecution against Christians, as opposed to the religious freedom granted by the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great in 313, were considered by the Persians, a 'fifth column of the Roman Empire, which was Shapur II hostilities. The king had captured Acindino, Pegasus and Anempodisto fervent Christians, who were subjected to interrogation and torture according to the custom of the time, but then were miraculously healed, their chains were broken and merged, while a violent storm struck the royal city of Isfahan, while Shapur II lost his voice, who regained the intercession of the martyrs themselves.

Their relics were later transferred to Constantinople and worshiped in a church dedicated to them, in 1204 during the Fourth Crusade, a relic of Acendino ended SEE France and from there to the Abbey of Rosières; was lost during the French Revolution and found a century later, in 1892 Grozon. Gasponi and the devotion to San Acindino is a Gasponi Old. According to local tradition also credited by some historical sources devotion to this saint is in this town since medieval times, when there was a Basilian monastery in this country, to whom we owe the spread of devotion to this saint. It is celebrated on November 3 even if the date of the church dedicated to him is that of November 2.
